Mandy @nesthouse, sketch designer of the DHALI Romper

Where did you get your inspiration for the DHALI Romper ?

My inspiration come from the babylooks I create for my daughters. When I thought of this romper, I mixed the influences of the casual style of Australian fashion with the retro touches of the Spanish designers to make these clothes unique.

When did you start drawing ?

Since childhood, I have always loved drawing. I could spend hours in my room designing clothes for my dolls. Over time, I gave up my dolls and this kind of drawing for inspirational / decorative sketches. With the birth of my two sweeties I started drawing again to create little outfits for them but also for their dolls !

When you are not drawing for Marsou what is your activity (ies) ?

In the past, I was a Marketing Project Manager in a large international company... Following the loss of my mother and the birth of my daughters, I totally rethought my priorities in life. Today, I am lucky enough to be able to devote more time to my family and my passions, such as photography, decoration, creation, fashion, I develop and create content for different brands.

What decorations for your children's room ?

In terms of decoration, I love minimalist and bohemian atmospheres, two styles that can be quite contradictory, which is a lot of fun for me to juggle with both to have my own style. For the girls' rooms, I have chosen very neutral shades and raw materials (wood, linen,...) There is a Berber style carpet, macrames, a vintage style rattan bed, a small Emmanuelle chair, wicker and straw baskets... My favorite brands are Numero 74, AmPm, Gabrielle Paris. In the children's rooms, toys can also be decorative and playful objects, such as Holztiger wooden animals, the Victorian Plantoys house, small Pinchtoys cars, a Raduga Grez tea set, a Happy to See You doll, stuffed animals from Bigstuffed ... in short the list is long !

What are your 3 favorite spots for kids in your neighborhood ?

We love to go for a snack in the Hautmont park in Mouvaux, have fun at the Marcq-en-Baroeul goose farm, and when the weather is great we love to walk along the Belgian coast and enjoy its large stretches of beach less than an hour from home.

Marsou in a few words ?
